Overview
RealSense has announced the D585 Pro, a stereo depth camera for robotics and industrial vision applications built around the company’s Generation 5 RealSense V5 SoC. The camera combines wide-field depth sensing, on-camera AI acceleration, IP65 protection, and software-defined perception features via the RealSense SDK. Shipping is expected in Q1 2027.

- Bandwidth Reduction: Depth Compression mode reduces depth stream bandwidth by 75% — intended for bandwidth-limited systems requiring continuous high-frame-rate streaming

Software — Perception Studio (Beta)
RealSense announced Perception Studio alongside the D585 Pro — a beta program for advanced features within the RealSense SDK 2.0 ecosystem. Available at launch:
- Close-range depth improvements (also backported to D400-series cameras)
- On-camera person detection
Planned post-launch features:
- Visual-inertial odometry using cuSLAM on an NVIDIA host
- Occupancy grid generation
- Auto-calibration
- Face detection
Dual RGB Mode
Simultaneous 30 FPS RGB and 30 FPS depth streams at up to 1280 × 960. Both streams are merged on-camera with no host CPU overhead.
