Developer Experience Changes

Dark mode on by default, widgets and notifications off, 30+ system settings retuned for developer workflows. Settings apply per user, not machine-wide.

Assessment

This is not Windows becoming Linux. It is Microsoft admitting, in product form, that the modern developer workstation is no longer a single-platform machine. The implementation still has to prove itself — native tools must behave predictably, WSL Containers must be reliable enough to trust, and AI terminal features must be controllable. But the center of gravity has shifted.
